ABOUT US

The Transit Institute for Competitive Energy (T-FORCE) was born out of collaboration between the Ohio Department of Transportation, NEORide, CALSTART, ZEB Tech, and 10 transit agencies across the State of Ohio to build a strong workforce for transit in the region around vehicles powered by competitive energies (Battery Electric, Hydrogen, and other zero-emission technologies).

T-FORCE, an Ohio-based workforce development program, is designed to train the frontline workforce of transit agencies for the transition toward competitive energy technology. This includes:

  • A large searchable repository of all technical documents pertaining to a vehicle.

  • Make workforce development equitable for transit agencies of varying sizes.

  • Develop the skills needed for transit careers that create a competitive workforce and can ensure high-quality jobs and retention.

  • Not only train the current workforce but train the next generation of maintenance professionals to work on alternative fuel vehicles.

  • Set the standard for a regional, collaborative, and industry certified training program.

WE CAN HELP YOU
  • Identify the gaps in your training for low- and zero- emission vehicles

  • Develop an apprenticeship program to create a pipeline of qualified technicians

  • Identify which technologies work best for you

The Transit Institute of Competitive Energy was originally created in partnership with 10 transit agencies in Ohio. These agencies provided T-FORCE with data and continued to collaborate with the team as training was designed for each of their needs. This partnership is the basis of the future of T-FORCE and its development of a regional, standardized training program. The T-FORCE team would like to thank each of the original 10 agencies:

  • Butler County Regional Transportation Authority

  • Chillicothe Transit System

  • Geauga Transit

  • Greater Cleveland Regional Transportation Authority

  • North Central Area Transit

  • Ottawa County Transportation Agency

  • Perry County Transit

  • Stark Area Regional Transportation Authority

  • Toledo Area Regional Transportation Authority

  • Western Reserve Transit Authority
